@buddo1999 You're not forced to pay it. If you don't want to pay it, then don't buy a car. Simple.

@DoctorFibonacci I'd say that there is too much variety in individual people to make a generalization such as yours about the decision-making center of the brain. In fact, the age of 25 is an arbitrary point chosen by insurance companies based on statistics of age versus accidents. I agree they should have a ride-along test, or perhaps have the DMV publish the results of your road test and base your rates on your score. Just another thought.

@buddo1999 It is against the US Constitution for the Federal Government to impose mandatory auto insurance, however the States are sovereign in the US, and the individual states CAN require auto insurance or any other ridiculous laws as long as they don't violate the rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution.

Hahaha, Actually Auto insurance is against the Constitution and also applies as a monopoly, one of the reasons it gets expensive! To force people to pay for anything is against our constitution, a treasonous act! Accountable by the laws of our constitution! Stand up America!

At 25 the decision-making center of the brain becomes fully formed and mature, making all of your actions on the road much more trustworthy. At least that's the justification used. And while the brain thing's true, and private businesses can do what they want and lose as many customers as they want, it's still a load of crap. Young men tend to get in more wrecks, but people say I drive like an old woman. They still charge me like an old man. Maybe they should do a ride along test. |
